What has been achieved?

Since the establishment of the Van Doorn Foundation in 2001, approximately 240 young people have received study funding or scholarships:

In Asia (Indonesia - Sri Lanka - Nepal) scholarships were provided to 100 young people giving them thereby the opportunity to pursue secondary school, higher vocational or university training. These include some 60 orphans in Papua (Indonesia) who have been able to follow education at various schools and some 10 children from a home for differently-abled children in Colombo (Sri Lanka) who have been given access to special education.

In Africa (Kenya - Uganda - Tanzania - Rwanda - Gambia – Senegal - Ghana), 140 young people received a scholarship. Among other some 55 young people from poor families from the slums of Nairobi (Kenya) have been given the opportunity to attend the Outering High School.

You can find more detailed information on the accomplishments of the Van Doorn Foundation in our annual reports.

We receive touching and thankful responses from the students who were able to finish their education, providing us with encouragement and plenty of energy to carry on with our work!
